Pastoral Reflection by Fr. Joseph Amal SDB
“When a storm blew up on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus' disciples feared that their boat would be swamped by the waves. But Jesus, who was with them, calmed the sea. At times in our everyday lives, we can feel swamped by various troubles—health crises, family worries, work pressures, or grief. But Jesus is always with us to protect and guide us. Like the apostle Paul, we are called to be overwhelmed not by storms and troubles, but by the love of God made visible in Christ Jesus. Living our Catholic faith means developing a real, personal friendship with Jesus. In any true friendship, there is give and take—each side listening to the other in prayer and helping each other through action. When you bring your fears to the Blessed Sacrament in quiet prayer, Christ speaks His words of peace: 'Quiet, be still.'”
